Our policies on class placement, class observation & dress code.Class PlacementStudents will be placed with respect to individual potential and proficiency by the director. Please know that all dancers progress at different rates of speed. Therefore, you may not always be placed with the same classmates each year. The instructor will be watching the advancement of each dancer and will make changes when necessary. Class ObservationParent observation is permitted at all times during the season. Sometimes very young children are distracted and you may want to step out of sight for a class. DO NOT tap on the windows, wave or talk to your child during the class. DO NOT open the studio door and talk to your child, this is very distracting to the other dancers and the teacher. No one is to enter the studio during class unless it is an emergency. Trust that we will make the proper corrections, please feel free to discuss them with the director whenever it does not interfere with a class. Due to the fact that classes are usually scheduled back to back you may request a return call or schedule a conference. Dress CodeProper dance attire is required for all classes. Black leotard and pink tights are mandatory for ballet and pointe classes. Any color leotard and tights may be worn for tap, jazz, modern and hip-hop. All dancers' hair must be tied back and secured for class. Dancers must wear the style shoes assigned to their class. Dancers not properly dressed for class will be given one warning. A second offense will result in the student being asked to sit out the class.
Students should be dressed and ready upon arrival at the dance center. Dance shoes should NEVER be worn outside. To avoid mix-ups or lost shoes, please be sure to use a permanent marker to write your child's name |
