Types of dance offered at Rhythmic Visions.Kinder DanceFor the 4 1/2 to 5 year old student. The dancers are introduced to ballet and tap. The dancers progress at a faster rate and will perform two recital routines at the seasons end. PreschoolThis class is designed for the 3 & 4 year olds to experience age appropriate dance movement in a caring environment. The teacher uses a variety of music, props and instruments to enhance their experience. Class consists of a half hour each of ballet and tap. BalletFor ages 5 and older. The foundation for all forms of dance. Ballet is a proper beginning for dance training and a necessary addition for any serious dancer. Classical training with concentration on correct body posture & technique used to develop muscle strength, grace & poise. Ballet utilizes balance, extension, control and expression. JazzFor ages 5 & older a combination of stretching, turns and progressions and one's own personality. Moderate to fast pace class including sharp dynamite movements set to current pieces of music. TapAges 5 & older. Technique through rhythm and coordination an energy packed class using today's music as well as Broadway's most popular pieces. This form of dance involves rapid rhythmic foot motion with upbeat music. Hip-HopAges 7 & older. A combination of street dancing and funky free style movement set to today's most popular music, as seen on MTV. Classes are available with or without previous dance experience. PointeSelect pointe if you have had several years of ballet training and you feel you are ready for the ultimate challenge. We stress classical form and technique. A dancer considereing pointe class must be 12 years old and have proper leg and musclu development to be placed in this class. Prior to class placement the student must pass the pre-pointe test given by the director. ModernAvailable for ages 10 and older with the studio directors' approval. Contemporary jazz dance uses body contractions, flexed feet and off-center body shapes that are reflective of modern dance technique. This style expresses body language and the use of the elements of dance and follows specific disciplines. LyricalFor ages 10 and up this class combines ballet and jazz technique. Dancers learn to express the lyrics of a song through their dance movements. ZumbaA fun, dance exercise program done to international Latin music. It's a party!
